Due to the different techniques being taught many surfers would struggle mightily when attempting to surf on their own, and in larger waves. Most schools put an emphasis on students riding whitewater waves, which are much different than the unbroken waves people see surfers riding in magazines and videos. Pacific Surf School was founded in Mission Beach, CA in 1997. Speaking with many novice surfers in the years leading up to the creation of big surf, we found that many surf school were not teaching the techniques students would need to surf effectively on their own.

Our 2 hour lessons allow you ample time to learn paddle out, wave judgment, etiquette, and pop-up techniques. We teach at Thalia St, Lagunas best location for beginner waves.
